KOTA KINABALU, October 8 — DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke highlighted the party’s shift toward younger leadership, celebrating the trend as a rejuvenation of its state branches. He praised the recent election of Teo Nie Ching, 43, as the new Johor DAP chairman, replacing long-serving Liew Chin Tong. Loke noted this transition reflects the delegates’ right to choose and marks a forward-moving process for the party.
Similar leadership shifts have taken place in Pahang and Penang, where younger leaders have replaced established figures. Loke expressed confidence that DAP members would continue to elect strong, dynamic committees to drive the party forward, particularly in Sabah, where state elections are scheduled for October 27.
