KUALA LUMPUR, October 13 – Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management, has called for the urgent modernization of aging buildings in Malaysia to reduce carbon emissions. At the Schneider Electric Innovation Day Kuala Lumpur 2024, the company emphasized that retrofitting older buildings with advanced digital and power management technologies could reduce life-cycle carbon emissions by up to 83%, significantly cutting energy consumption.
Eugene Quah, Schneider Electric’s Country President for Malaysia, stressed the need for building owners to upgrade outdated systems, particularly in Building Management Systems (BMS), to improve efficiency and sustainability. He highlighted the importance of digitalization and electrification in driving decarbonization, with solutions like microgrids, EV charging stations, and AI-powered tools playing a key role in creating cleaner energy supplies and achieving net-zero targets.
