KUALA LUMPUR, October 15 – The Ministry of Communications, along with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), hosted a crucial meeting with ASEAN Ambassadors in Malaysia to discuss social media regulations and online safety. Chaired by Minister of Communications YB Fahmi Fadzil, the session focused on strengthening regional collaboration to address online safety challenges and enhance social media governance across ASEAN member states.
The meeting highlighted the importance of coordinated strategies and the sharing of best practices to tackle the growing concerns around online harms. Fahmi emphasized that no single nation can resolve these issues alone and called for collective action. By aligning regulatory frameworks and fostering collaboration, ASEAN hopes to create a safer digital environment for all its citizens.
