KUALA LUMPUR, October 19 – The era of queuing early in the morning to obtain numbers at Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) will soon be a thing of the past. In the recent Budget 2025 presentation, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the introduction of an online ticketing system across all UTCs, allowing the public to secure their numbers before visiting the centres.

While specific details regarding the first UTC locations to implement this management system and its timeline were not disclosed, the announcement has been met with enthusiasm from the public. Many have long advocated for such a feature, emphasizing that it is outdated to wait in line for tickets as if we were still in the pre-internet era. In addition to the online system, the government also revealed plans to construct a new UTC in Seberang Perai, Penang, further enhancing accessibility to essential services for citizens.
