Apple is set to release a lower-cost version of its Apple Vision headset as early as next year, priced around $2000, according to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter. The new headset will be more affordable than the Apple Vision Pro, which debuted at $3499, and will feature less expensive materials and a downgraded processor, likely an A-series chip instead of the M2.
One significant change is the removal of the EyeSight feature, a display that shows the user’s eyes to the outside world, which Apple introduced with the Vision Pro. The decision to omit this feature is part of Apple’s strategy to reduce production costs and make the headset more accessible. Despite the lower price, Apple expects the new model to sell better than the Vision Pro.
