KUALA LUMPUR, October 25 – The Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival 2024 (KLEFF) has officially launched its 16th edition during the media event at IGEM 2024, Innovation Stage 2, KLCC. Scheduled to take place from October 24 to 27, 2024, the festival will be hosted at the newly revitalized Semua House, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s historic textile district.
This year’s festival aims to continue its mission of promoting sustainability through the power of storytelling, showcasing a diverse lineup of internationally acclaimed films, including documentaries, short films, and animations that inspire action toward environmental conservation. Supported by the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN), this year’s festival will emphasize water sustainability, with initiatives designed to raise public awareness about the importance of water conservation.
Festival Director Fadly Bakhtiar expressed excitement about the event, stating, “KLEFF 2024 at Semua House is more than just films; it’s a gathering of passionate individuals united by a common goal—to create a sustainable future.” Alongside film screenings, attendees can look forward to panel discussions, eco-themed workshops, live performances by local artists, and the “Good Buy! Bazaar,” showcasing artisanal crafts and sustainable products, making KLEFF 2024 a comprehensive celebration of cinema, sustainability, and community.
