KUALA LUMPUR, October 27 — The upcoming International Healthcare Week (IHW) 2025, scheduled for July 16-18 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), aims to position Malaysia as a burgeoning hub in the global healthcare sector. This prestigious event, organized in partnership between the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Informa Markets, will focus on advancing the medical laboratory, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals sectors, all of which are pivotal to the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030.

The event is expected to attract over 16,000 attendees from 50 countries and will feature co-located events including CPHI Southeast Asia, Medlab Asia, and Asia Health, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in the healthcare landscape. MATRADE’s Chairman, YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, highlighted that Malaysia’s healthcare sector is on the brink of significant growth, driven by increasing life expectancy and a rising demand for chronic disease treatment.

With a projected expansion of the global healthcare industry from RM2.53 trillion in 2024 to RM4.13 trillion by 2032, Malaysia is poised to capitalize on this growth, especially in medical tourism and healthcare technology. IHW 2025 will provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing, empowering local companies to strengthen their presence in the international healthcare market while enhancing Malaysia’s reputation as a premier destination for quality and affordable healthcare services.
