In its latest announcement, Apple has revealed the all-new Mac mini, redesigned to be both compact and powerful. Equipped with the new M4 and M4 Pro chips, the Mac mini packs incredible performance into a sleek, ultra-compact 5×5 inch form factor. The M4 Pro option also brings Thunderbolt 5 connectivity for faster data transfers, setting a new standard for speed and efficiency in Apple’s desktop lineup.
The M4 version features a 10-core CPU and GPU, while the M4 Pro model includes a 14-core CPU and up to 20-core GPU. This Pro version is designed to support demanding tasks with ease, including high-performance computing needs like video editing and intensive AI applications. Apple reports that the M4 Pro is capable of data transfer speeds up to 120 Gb/s, doubling the throughput of its predecessor’s Thunderbolt 4.
Designed for versatility, the Mac mini includes front-facing USB-C ports and a headphone jack, with rear ports for HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, and three Thunderbolt 5 connections on the Pro model. In keeping with Apple’s sustainability goals, this release is Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac, utilizing over 80% recycled materials and reducing greenhouse gas emissions significantly.
Starting at $599 for the M4 model with 16GB of memory, the Mac mini is available for pre-order now and will arrive in stores on November 8. The M4 Pro version starts at $1,399 and offers configuration options up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB of storage, providing a scalable solution for both casual and professional users.
