GEORGE TOWN, November 1 — Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong has voiced support for DAP Perak Chairman Nga Kor Ming to pursue civil action against PAS Perak Commissioner Razman Zakaria. Ong criticized Razman for linking Nga to the recent Guan Gong festival event in Teluk Intan, where participants from China waved their national flag, sparking online backlash.
Ong rebuked Razman’s actions as divisive and harmful, emphasizing that the flag-raising occurred during a traditional celebration, not the Lantern Festival as alleged, and that Nga was in Kuala Lumpur at the time. He called Razman’s statements baseless, accusing him of stirring racial sentiment and misrepresenting the event for political purposes. Ong also urged authorities to investigate Razman’s involvement in an unsanctioned gathering at the Leaning Tower, stressing the need for accountability.
