KUALA LUMPUR, November 1 – OPUS International (M) Berhad, a subsidiary of UEM Edgenta, has entered a strategic joint venture with HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd to expand infrastructure development across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The partnership combines OPUS’s expertise in asset management and energy efficiency with HSS’s engineering and project management capabilities. The venture, 60% owned by OPUS and 40% by HSS, aims to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions in high-growth markets.
Hillary Chua, Managing Director of OPUS, highlighted the collaboration as a transformative step, merging over three decades of experience from both companies. The joint venture aligns with UEM Edgenta’s “Edgenta of the Future 2025” vision and will focus on key infrastructure sectors, including rail, highways, ports, and renewable energy. Initial operations are expected to begin in 2024, pending regulatory approvals.
