ISTANBUL, November 8 – The 15th Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) 2024 opened in Istanbul, Türkiye, gathering over 1,000 global industry leaders, mobile network carriers, and technology innovators under the theme “5.5G Leads Mobile AI Era.” The forum, hosted by Huawei in collaboration with GSMA and GTI, aims to accelerate 5.5G and AI integration, offering live demonstrations of 5.5G-powered intelligent applications across fields from personal and home use to transport, business, and industry.
Huawei’s Rotating Chairman Ken Hu emphasized AI’s transformative potential, foreseeing a future where AI integration in mobile networks enables universal, anytime access to AI capabilities. The forum’s keynote speakers, including Huawei Senior Vice President Li Peng, outlined strategies for maximizing 5.5G in the AI era, spotlighting network enhancements and AI-driven operational efficiencies. Through indoor and outdoor exhibitions, attendees witnessed the latest in AI connectivity, including real-time AI call translation, AI phones, and intelligent vehicle interfaces, marking the early commercial rollout of 5.5G as a landmark shift toward the Mobile AI era.
