KULAI, November 9 – The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) agreement is set to be signed on December 9, during the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Ministerial Committee for Iskandar Malaysia (JMCIM) retreat in Putrajaya, according to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. This milestone agreement aims to enhance economic cooperation between Johor and Singapore, following productive discussions held today in Johor Bahru, co-chaired by Malaysia’s Economic Minister Rafizi Ramli and Singapore’s Minister for National Development Desmond Lee.

In his remarks, Onn Hafiz highlighted Johor’s rising appeal as an international investment hub, reinforced by projects like Mercedes-Benz’s Regional Logistics Centre Malaysia, an RM1.5 billion investment facilitated by the “Kulai Fast Lane” initiative. This investment initiative has already attracted over RM52 billion in investments across 38 projects, supporting Johor’s strategic position as a global, high-value investment destination.
