SHAH ALAM, November 11 — In a significant leadership shift, Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han has been elected as the new Selangor DAP chairman, replacing Gobind Singh Deo after today’s party committee election. Ng, who previously served as the state secretary, stepped into the top role after securing one of the 15 committee spots, marking a new chapter for the party in Selangor.
Ng expressed his gratitude to Gobind for his leadership, highlighting recent achievements under his guidance, including DAP’s success in securing all contested state and federal seats in Selangor and an additional executive council position in the state government. Gobind, who did not secure enough votes to be re-elected to the committee, pledged his ongoing support for the new leadership team and the party’s future direction.
The revamped lineup also includes notable figures like Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, who received the highest number of votes and now serves as the state secretary. Other key positions were filled by Klang MP Ganabatirau Veraman as deputy chairman and Jamaliah Jamaluddin as state treasurer. This election saw the participation of around 1,663 delegates, setting up a leadership team ready to guide Selangor DAP through the next three years.
