SEBERANG PERAI, November 12 — Despite his unexpected loss in the Selangor DAP committee election, Damansara MP Gobind Singh Deo will continue to play a prominent role in the party’s national leadership, according to DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke. Loke described Gobind’s defeat as part of the democratic process, expressing gratitude for his contributions to Selangor DAP over the years.
He emphasized that Gobind remains an influential figure in the party as the national deputy chairman. Loke also clarified that Gobind’s loss does not affect his position in the Cabinet, where he serves as the Minister of Digital Communications. He stated that Gobind accepted the election results with grace and will continue representing DAP at the national level, while Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han succeeds him in the Selangor DAP leadership.
