KUALA LUMPUR, November 13 – Following the passing of former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin this morning, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his longtime friend and political ally. In an emotional statement, Dr. Mahathir described Daim as a steadfast companion who contributed significantly to the nation and its people, lamenting that Daim’s recent years were marred by unjust treatment.

Reflecting on Daim’s legacy, Dr. Mahathir said, “He should have been honored for his contributions, but instead, he was maligned without reason, a consequence of lingering resentment.” Dr. Mahathir prayed for justice and peace for Daim in the afterlife, expressing his hope that Daim would be remembered as a fighter for the country.
