JOHOR BARU, November 13 — Johor has launched the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC), aiming to become the first state to introduce a structured talent ecosystem for skilled careers. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi highlighted that the JTDC would foster premium wages in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), setting RM4,000 as the minimum starting salary for diploma holders and RM5,000 for those with Malaysian Skills Certificates.
With over 100,000 job opportunities in Johor, including 74,000 high-skilled positions, JTDC will realign education and training to meet industry demands. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi emphasized partnerships with industries and educational institutions to ensure that local talent meets specific job market needs, boosting Johor’s competitive edge in the region.
