KUALA LUMPUR, November 15 — Two new restaurants have been awarded one Michelin star at the Michelin Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2023 award ceremony, held today at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. The prestigious recognition went to Chim by Chef Noom at TSLAW Tower and Molina at The Face Style. Chim by Chef Noom, led by renowned chef Thaninthorn “Noom” Chantrawan, serves modern Thai cuisine, blending Thai and local ingredients.
Meanwhile, Molina, helmed by chef Sidney Schutte, brings modern European fine dining to Malaysia. The ceremony also saw Dewakan retain its two Michelin stars and earn Malaysia’s first-ever Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability. Other notable awards included the Opening of the Year Award for Molina, the Service Award for Azmi Ahmad Kamal of Chim by Chef Noom, and the Young Chef Award for Waymann Cheong of Lucky Hole in Penang.
