KUANTAN, November 17 — Genting Malaysia Berhad, one of Malaysia’s top leisure and hospitality corporations, was awarded the prestigious Halal Champion of Pahang State at the launch of the “Halal on Track Pahang 2024” event held at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kuantan. The award from the Pahang State Islamic Religious Council (JAIP) acknowledges Genting’s halal compliance for Resorts World Genting’s Jom Makan SkyAvenue and Jom Makan Street Food, popular for serving authentic Malaysian street food in a food court-style setting.
The recognition follows a rigorous assessment of Genting Malaysia’s operational practices, including daily food preparation, staff training, and halal documentation. Out of 1,500 nominations, Genting Malaysia secured a place in the Top 10, a testament to the company’s dedication to halal food standards. Rajis Othman, Resorts World Genting’s Internal Halal Chairman and Assistant F&B Manager, accepted the award from Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, accompanied by key figures from JAKIM and JAIP.
Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations at Resorts World Genting, expressed pride in the achievement, noting, “This award underscores Genting Malaysia’s commitment to inclusive, quality halal practices, further enhancing our culinary offerings.” The “Halal on Track Pahang” initiative, supported by both federal and state governments, aims to strengthen Malaysia’s halal certification, instilling consumer confidence through compliance with Islamic dietary laws.
