JOHOR BAHRU, November 24 – The Johor Economic, Tourism, and Cultural Office (JETCO), in partnership with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and industry leaders like Philip Morris Malaysia, hosted the Malaysia Electronics Supplier Summit on 13 November 2024. Held at the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel, the summit highlighted Johor’s commitment to becoming a global hub for high-tech manufacturing, particularly in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector. Supported by corporate partners such as KPMG Malaysia, OCBC Bank, and EcoWorld, the event demonstrated the state’s business-friendly environment and innovation-driven approach to attracting investments.
Key highlights included a Letter of Intent (LOI) signing between JETCO and Rome Business School to upskill local talent and remarks from Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim, CEO of MIDA, emphasizing Malaysia’s competitive edge in the global electronics supply chain. Philip Morris Malaysia lauded Johor’s strategic advantages, from its skilled workforce to cutting-edge infrastructure, reinforcing its position as a prime investment destination in Southeast Asia. The summit successfully underscored Johor’s pivotal role in driving innovation and fostering sustainable growth in the global electronics ecosystem.
