KUALA LUMPUR, November 28 — Atome Financial, Southeast Asia’s leading digital financial services platform, has secured a syndicated credit facility of up to US$200 million, led by HSBC through its ASEAN Growth Fund. Supported by DBS Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), and Brunei’s Baiduri Bank, the facility aims to accelerate the growth of Atome’s regional portfolio and products, including its Atome Card, across key markets like Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
Andy Tan, Chief Commercial Officer of Atome Financial, highlighted the banking community’s trust and commitment to supporting the platform’s mission of delivering innovative and inclusive financial solutions. This facility builds on Atome’s significant financial milestones, including doubling its FY2023 income to US$170 million and achieving profitability in its buy-now-pay-later segment.
With a Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) of nearly US$1.5 billion in 2023 and becoming EBITDA positive in early 2024, Atome Financial is poised to expand its impact on financial inclusion across Southeast Asia. This marks an extension of its earlier funding, including a US$100 million facility announced in June 2024.
