GEORGE TOWN, November 29 – Media and influencers anticipating a festive Christmas preview were pleasantly surprised when Gurney Bay Hotel, a PARKROYAL Partner Hotel, unveiled an elegant Thanksgiving Dinner instead. The evening combined the warmth of Thanksgiving traditions with the sophistication of fine dining, offering attendees a memorable culinary journey.

Diners were seated at round tables for a formal dining experience, with each course served individually. The evening began with a Poached King Prawn on Mango Fruits Salsa, complemented by a honey mustard dill dressing. This refreshing starter set the tone for the meal, with its perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess.

Next came the comforting Wild Mushroom Consommé, served alongside an assortment of freshly baked breads, including garlic bread, focaccia buns, and hard rolls paired with salted butter. The soup’s delicate flavors provided a delightful interlude before the highly anticipated main course.

The highlight of the evening was the Traditional Roasted Turkey, featuring a rich prune and chestnut stuffing. Accompanied by baked herb cocktail potatoes, sautéed Brussels sprouts, and sweet peas, the dish was elevated with pineapple and onion rings, as well as classic cranberry sauce and giblet gravy. Each element was meticulously prepared, making the main course a true Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Dessert was equally impressive, with Mary Berry’s Charlotte Royale stealing the show. The zesty lemon meringue sauce added a refreshing contrast to the rich and creamy dessert, leaving diners thoroughly satisfied. The evening concluded with freshly brewed coffee and tea, accompanied by heartfelt thanks to Gurney Bay Hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Chung, and his dedicated team for their exceptional hospitality.

Special appreciation was also extended to Timothy Tye and Gurney Bay Hotel Assistant F&B Manager Mr. Jalil for orchestrating a flawless dining experience.
