PETALING JAYA, December 3 – Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin has confirmed Azmin Ali’s appointment as the party’s new secretary-general. Azmin, who is also the Selangor Bersatu chairman and Hulu Kelang assemblyman, will serve as the secretary-general for both Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Muhyiddin reiterated that the decision had been finalized and would be officially announced soon. The appointment comes despite earlier reports that Azmin had declined the position to focus on leading Selangor PN in its quest to capture the state in the next election.
