PUTRAJAYA, December 3 – The Home Ministry (KDN) has pledged to comply with the High Court’s ruling to return 172 Swatch Pride watches seized in May 2023, valued at over RM64,000. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution said the ministry respects the court’s decision, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal rulings to avoid contempt of court.

Saifuddin explained that a full review of the court’s judgement is necessary before deciding on any appeal. High Court judge Datuk Amarjeet Singh Serjit Singh had ruled the seizures illegal, noting the watches were confiscated before any formal ban was issued. “In principle, respecting court decisions is the right course of action,” Saifuddin stated, while confirming that the Attorney General’s office would provide legal guidance on the next steps.
