BATU GAJAH, December 3 – The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is evaluating a proposal by the Perak government to establish a cargo warehousing complex at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (LTSAS) in Ipoh. Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook stated that discussions are underway with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) to enhance the airport’s cargo capabilities, highlighting the importance of integrating cargo operations alongside passenger services, given the airport’s role in handling international flights.

Additionally, Loke noted that ongoing upgrading works at LTSAS, initiated earlier this year, aim to optimise existing facilities. These include improvements to the foyer, restructured check-in counters, and enhancements to passenger comfort. The upgrades are expected to bolster operational efficiency for industry players while ensuring seamless and integrated logistics services for consumers.
