JOHOR BAHRU, December 9 – BMW Group Malaysia celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Regional Parts Distribution Centre in Malaysia with a major expansion of the state-of-the-art facility located in the Free Industrial Zone at Senai International Airport, Johor Bahru. The expansion increases the facility’s size from 45,000 to 65,000 square meters, reinforcing BMW’s commitment to the region and establishing the centre as one of the largest in the Asia Pacific.
The expanded facility introduces significant upgrades, including a High Voltage Battery Storage Area, modern racking systems, and a solar panel roof, aligning with BMW’s sustainability goals. The facility has grown substantially since its inception in 2004, with its annual turnover rising from EUR 141 million in 2017 to EUR 277 million in 2023. It now manages over 100,000 inventory lines monthly, ensuring 90% service levels to over 20 markets across the region.
This expansion enhances BMW’s logistics capabilities, positioning the facility as a strategic hub for after-sales operations and regional supply networks, further solidifying Malaysia’s role in BMW’s Asia Pacific operations.
