KUALA LUMPUR, December 9 – The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) hosted its annual Red Ribbon Gala, uniting government, corporate, and community leaders to amplify efforts to end AIDS. Held in collaboration with Sunway Group as part of their 50th-anniversary celebrations, the event raised RM2.8 million, with major contributions from Sunway, Yayasan Petronas, and KAREX.
KOMITED Malaysia received the Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Award for its impactful work supporting vulnerable communities and addressing HIV prevention and substance abuse. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad announced an additional RM1 million allocation for HIV/AIDS programmes in 2025, reinforcing the government’s commitment. MAF Chairman, Professor Dato’ Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman, highlighted the vital role of corporate contributions, now the second-largest funding source for MAF.
The gala also featured stellar performances, including a heartfelt rendition by Datin Seri Azlin Hezri and her family, underscoring the evening’s theme of unity and compassion.
