KUALA LUMPUR, December 9 – Tourism Malaysia and VietJet Air have inaugurated direct flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Hanoi (HAN), enhancing air connectivity between Malaysia and Vietnam. The new route, operated by VietJet Air’s Airbus A320 fleet, features daily return flights with a weekly capacity of 1,260 seats. This development strengthens ties between the two nations, offering travelers reliable, affordable, and convenient options for business, leisure, and cultural exchanges.
The first flight, VJ905, departed Hanoi on 28 November 2024 and arrived at KLIA Terminal 2, welcomed by a celebratory event attended by dignitaries from both Tourism Malaysia and VietJet Air. The service complements VietJet’s existing Kuala Lumpur-Ho Chi Minh City route, doubling weekly flights to 14 between the two countries. As the year-end holidays approach, the route aligns with Visit Malaysia Year 2026 preparations, promoting Malaysia as a key travel hub while fostering regional tourism.
To celebrate the launch, VietJet Air is offering its “Green Friday” promotion with tickets starting at RM166 every Friday until 31 December 2024. Passengers can enjoy seamless booking via the VietJet Air website or app, with travel dates extending into 2025. Known for its eco-friendly fleet and exceptional service, VietJet provides a unique inflight experience, including signature Vietnamese cuisine, cultural programs, and complimentary Sky Care insurance.
This exciting new connection opens opportunities for travelers to explore Hanoi’s rich history, vibrant street food, and cultural landmarks, bridging Southeast Asia’s political and cultural capitals.
