KUALA LUMPUR, December 9 – World has officially launched its World ID Credential in Malaysia, introducing a groundbreaking digital identity system that combines privacy, security, and convenience. Initially available for iOS users, the feature allows Malaysians to link their valid identification documents—starting with passports—to their World ID.
Using advanced Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, users can anonymously verify their humanness and access the World Network without visiting a physical Orb, ensuring their personal data remains secure and exclusively stored on their devices. This launch is particularly timely, given the rise of digital threats such as deepfakes and identity theft, which have cost Malaysians RM2.2 million in fraud losses this year.
World ID offers a seamless, privacy-preserving way to authenticate identity, empowering users to safely navigate online services while remaining anonymous. Verified users are also eligible to receive WLD airdrops, enhancing digital inclusivity. With plans to expand to Android, World Foundation is committed to delivering a secure and inclusive digital identity system for all.
