KUALA LUMPUR, December 17 — The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Chery Corporate Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. have successfully concluded a landmark supply chain programme in Wuhu, China, held from December 2-5, 2024. Supported by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), the four-day event connected 40 Malaysian vendors with Chery’s global technology hub.
This initiative, themed the Chery Premier Supply Chain Programme, marks a significant leap for Malaysia in the global automotive supply chain, providing vendors with exclusive insights into advanced manufacturing, next-generation vehicle technology, and sustainable practices. MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim highlighted the programme as a transformative moment for Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem, enabling local vendors to access cutting-edge technology and global markets.
Chery’s Executive Vice President, Leo Chen, underscored the company’s dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability, describing the initiative as a “shared journey of growth.” Featuring facility tours, business matching sessions, and technical workshops, the event aligns with Malaysia’s National Automotive Policy, supporting local vendor development and advancing electrification and smart mobility solutions.
