SEPANG, December 20 – Transport Minister Anthony Loke has called on Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to enhance its performance as the nation celebrates the arrival of its first Airbus A330neo. Speaking at the launch event, Loke emphasised the need for on-time service improvements and international expansion, particularly with plans to connect Malaysia Airlines to all major European destinations by next year.

Acknowledging strides made under MAG Group Managing Director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Loke praised Malaysia Airlines and MASwings for recent improvements in punctuality but highlighted the need for Firefly to address ongoing challenges. The A330neo represents a transformative step for MAG’s fleet, featuring advanced aerodynamics and Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, which deliver 14% reduced fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

With 297 seats, including a first-ever all-suite Business Class with privacy doors, the aircraft reinforces MAG’s commitment to providing premium service. Izham affirmed MAG’s resolve to solidify its role as a regional leader while maintaining financial sustainability and contributing to Malaysia’s economic growth.
