KUALA LUMPUR, December 21 – Resorts World Cruises has announced the addition of its third cruise ship, the Star Scorpio, offering dual homeports in Melaka and Singapore starting March 2025. Designed to enhance cruise travel in Southeast Asia, the 1,800-passenger ship will sail various routes, including 3-night cruises from Melaka to Medan and Singapore during Malaysia’s school holidays and 3-to-5-night cruises from Singapore to destinations like Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Jakarta.
This move is expected to boost both inbound and outbound tourism for Melaka and Singapore. Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises, highlighted the convenience for Malaysian passengers, saying, “With both Melaka and Singapore as dual homeports, Star Scorpio offers affordable and flexible travel options for families and adventurers alike.” Prior to its maiden voyage, Star Scorpio will undergo a USD 50 million upgrade to feature state-of-the-art facilities and entertainment.
