KUALA LUMPUR, December 23 – The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has received 107.5 million e-invoices since the system’s launch on August 1, reflecting strong participation among taxpayers. According to Rasyidah Che Rosli, LHDN’s tax operations director (e-invoice division), over 35% of taxpayers have adopted e-invoicing voluntarily, marking a significant milestone ahead of the mandatory rollout phases.

LHDN is preparing for the second phase of implementation on January 1, 2025, targeting 14,000 taxpayers with annual turnovers of RM25 million to RM100 million. The agency has provided a six-month interim relaxation period for smoother transitions and offers extensive support through guidelines, a dedicated help desk, and the MyInvois Portal. The e-invoicing initiative aims to streamline tax reporting and enhance compliance across Malaysia’s commercial sectors.
