KUALA LUMPUR, December 26 – The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR), through its Manpower Department (JTM), has partnered with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) to elevate Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to integrate cutting-edge technologies like AI, 5G, cloud computing, and IoT into Malaysia’s government-based TVET ecosystem.

The collaboration will establish the first TVET Huawei Learning Centre at the Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Kuala Lumpur, offering Huawei-certified courses to upskill over 2,000 trainees, including students, educators, and engineers. Minister of Human Resources YB Steven Sim Chee Keong emphasized the partnership’s alignment with Malaysia’s National TVET Policy 2030, stating, “This collaboration leverages Huawei’s expertise to equip Malaysians with 21st-century skills, enhancing competitiveness in the digital era.”

Huawei Malaysia CEO Simon Sun highlighted the transformative potential of the initiative, adding, “The skills acquired through this partnership will empower the next generation with credentials valued by employers, opening pathways to high-value roles in the ICT industry.” The partnership also plans to upgrade TVET campuses with smart classrooms, 5G technologies, and AI-powered solutions to further strengthen Malaysia’s workforce readiness in the digital economy.
