GEORGE TOWN, December 27 – The Penang State Government has announced a 100% exemption on overdue penalties for land and parcel taxes paid between January 2 and February 28, 2025. This incentive aims to ease the financial burden on property owners and encourage early payments.
A 50% penalty reduction will also be available from March 1 to May 31, 2025, extending to owners with existing penalty notices under Section 6A (land tax) or Section 11 (parcel tax). With nearly RM40.1 million in overdue penalties affecting over 67,000 accounts, the government urges property owners to settle dues promptly to avoid forfeiture.
