KUALA LUMPUR, December 30 – Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, inaugurated its new office in Kuala Lumpur, underscoring its commitment to Malaysia’s digital economy and solidifying the country as an ASEAN hub for mainframe modernization.

The facility will host Kyndryl’s Malaysian operations and ASEAN’s first Mainframe Modernization Center of Excellence (CoE), which guides enterprises in updating and migrating legacy mainframe systems to cloud-native environments. During the opening, Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul, Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, praised Kyndryl’s investment, highlighting Malaysia’s strong digital infrastructure and appeal as a global investment destination under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.

Effendi Azmi Hashim, Kyndryl Malaysia and Indonesia’s Managing Director, emphasized the company’s focus on innovation, while InvestKL CEO Datuk Muhammad Azmi Zulkifli noted Kyndryl’s role in enhancing Greater Kuala Lumpur’s position as a technology hub, driving digital skills and AI-driven growth. The new office fosters creativity and collaboration, supporting Kyndryl’s mission to modernize and secure mission-critical IT systems for businesses across the region.
