GEORGE TOWN, January 1 — Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, in his New Year’s address, highlighted Penang’s strides in achieving 73% of its Penang2030 vision, with 359 projects completed and more underway. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to economic growth, infrastructure enhancement, and improved public transportation, including advancing the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project and expanding Penang International Airport.

Chow celebrated the state’s RM22.6 billion in approved investments for 2024, emphasizing the creation of over 14,000 jobs and robust contributions from manufacturing and services sectors. As he steps aside from state party leadership, Chow vowed to uphold a transparent and progressive administration, ensuring no one is left behind in Penang’s development journey.

He urged citizens to embrace 2025 with optimism and unity for continued progress and prosperity.
