PETALING JAYA, January 4 — Samaiden Group Berhad, a renewable energy specialist, has been awarded a Letter of Notification (LON) by the Energy Commission for the development of a 99.99 MW Large Scale Solar Photovoltaic (LSS) Plant in Pasir Mas, Kelantan. The project, part of the Large Scale Solar 5 (LSS5) programme, underscores Samaiden’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s goal of achieving a 70% renewable energy mix by 2050.

Set to commence operations by October 2027 under a 21-year Solar Power Purchase Agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the plant will contribute significantly to the national power grid. Datuk Ir. Chow Pui Hee, Group Managing Director, hailed the milestone as pivotal for Samaiden, reinforcing its leadership in renewable energy and environmental stewardship.
