KUALA LUMPUR, January 6 — The Court of Appeal is set to hear Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s appeal against the Kuala Lumpur High Court’s dismissal of his application to serve the remainder of his six-year prison sentence under house arrest. Najib, 71, claims the existence of a royal addendum issued by the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong allowing such an arrangement.

The hearing, delayed from December 5, 2024, includes Najib’s request to submit additional evidence supporting his claim. Previously, the High Court dismissed the application, deeming affidavits from key figures, including Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as hearsay.

Najib seeks a judicial order compelling authorities to verify and enforce the alleged decree, enabling his transfer from Kajang Prison to his Kuala Lumpur residence.
