KUALA LUMPUR, January 6 — Putrajaya police have warned against a planned rally at the Palace of Justice today, as organizers failed to secure the necessary approvals under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012. The event, spearheaded by PAS and Malay-Muslim groups Ummah and Perkasa, aims to show solidarity for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is appealing to serve his remaining six-year prison sentence under house arrest.

Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed emphasized that participants risk strict legal action, with roadblocks and screenings at entry points to ensure compliance. Items such as banners or weapons with inciting messages will be confiscated. Although Umno withdrew its support for the rally after a royal decree, the other groups have vowed to proceed, prompting heightened security measures in the area.
