PETALING JAYA, January 13 — Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has repeatedly declined Warisan’s invitations to discuss a potential collaboration ahead of the upcoming state election, according to Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal. Speaking at a Christmas gathering in Kepayan, Shafie revealed that GRS firmly rejected his calls for unity, stating, “They said, ‘no, we don’t want to work with Warisan.’”
Shafie emphasized the need for Sabahans to unite to tackle pressing issues and advance the state, which he said lags behind others. He also warned against divisive rhetoric, advocating for unity to uphold Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963. Confident in Warisan’s preparedness for the state polls, he pledged to prioritize solutions for challenges like water, electricity, education, and healthcare.
