GEORGE TOWN, January 13 — Penang FC let slip a two-goal lead to settle for a 3-3 draw against Perak FC in last night’s Super League clash at Stadium Bandaraya. Head coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail attributed the disappointing result to defensive lapses and a loss of focus, particularly after conceding a penalty in the second half.
“We started well but failed to maintain our momentum. Losing two goals within 10 minutes was unacceptable,” said Wan Rohaimi, who urged his players to balance physical effort with tactical intelligence. Meanwhile, Perak FC head coach Yusri Che Lah praised his team’s resilience despite injuries and a limited squad, crediting tactical adjustments for their comeback.
The draw leaves Penang FC in 11th place with 15 points, while Perak sits 8th with 19 points. Penang will next face Selangor FC in the Challenge Cup semi-final on Jan 19, with another encounter against the same opponents in the league on Jan 25.
