ABU DHABI, January 16 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has invited United Arab Emirates (UAE) companies to invest in Malaysia’s renewable energy (RE) projects, data centres, and infrastructure development. During his three-day working visit, Anwar held meetings with major UAE sovereign wealth funds, including Masdar and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

Anwar highlighted the government’s commitment to facilitating Masdar’s investments in green energy, battery storage, and grid enhancement through joint ventures with local firms. He also discussed ADIA’s potential involvement in projects under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), covering sectors such as logistics, healthcare, and green technology.

Additionally, ADIA expressed interest in collaborating with global infrastructure partners on Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad’s (MAHB) privatisation and reorganisation. In discussions with Mubadala, Anwar explored opportunities in liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, blue hydrogen development, and carbon capture initiatives. These investments align with Malaysia’s MADANI Economy framework, reinforcing the nation’s push for sustainability and advanced economic transformation.
