BAYAN LEPAS, January 18 – Agilent Technologies’ smart factory in Penang has joined the prestigious World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network, becoming the second factory in Malaysia and the only analytical and clinical laboratory technology company globally to earn this recognition. The accolade highlights Agilent’s leadership in leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies such as AI, 3D printing, and IIoT to enhance productivity and build future-ready industries.
Since integrating advanced digital technologies, Agilent Penang has achieved remarkable improvements, including a 40% boost in productivity and a 48% reduction in delivery lead times. “This milestone showcases Agilent’s commitment to innovation and workforce development,” said CEO Padraig McDonnell. With 25 years of investment in Malaysia, Agilent’s Penang facility continues to drive progress, positioning both the company and the state as pioneers in advanced manufacturing.
