KUALA LUMPUR, January 18 – PETRONAS, through its subsidiary PC North Madura II Ltd., has reached the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Hidayah field in East Java’s North Madura II Contract Area, Indonesia. As the operator with a 100% stake, PETRONAS aims to bolster Indonesia’s energy self-sufficiency with this strategic development.
The Hidayah field plan includes drilling production wells, building an unmanned integrated wellhead and central processing platform, and deploying a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit. PETRONAS’ Executive Vice President of Upstream, Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab, emphasized the company’s commitment to Indonesia’s energy goals, highlighting the milestone as a step toward sustainable energy delivery.
The project also underscores PETRONAS’ strategic role in supporting the region’s energy needs while expanding its global presence.
