GEORGE TOWN, January 20 — Pos Malaysia Berhad marked a significant milestone with the official launch of its 50th Pos Shop on Jalan Dato Keramat, Penang. The event, officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, underscores Pos Malaysia’s commitment to evolving with consumer needs by combining traditional postal services with modern retail conveniences.

“This achievement reflects our dedication to reimagining customer experience while supporting the local economy,” said Charles Brewer, Group CEO of Pos Malaysia. Spanning 800 square feet, the Dato Keramat Pos Shop offers a comprehensive range of services, including parcel delivery, bill payments, mobile reloads, and everyday essentials. It also features Pos Kafe, providing a cozy space for freshly brewed coffee and snacks, transforming the post office into a versatile community hub.


The new outlet is the fifth Pos Shop in Penang, joining locations in Perai, Kepala Batas, Batu Maung, and Gelugor. Chief Minister Chow lauded Pos Malaysia’s innovative efforts, emphasizing its role in bridging traditional and digital services to enhance accessibility and convenience for the community. “This initiative demonstrates Pos Malaysia’s forward-thinking approach, which benefits both the public and the state’s infrastructure,” he remarked.

In conjunction with Chinese New Year, Pos Shop has introduced the festive ‘Promo Paling Ong’ campaign, featuring the Tangerine Sunshine beverage and other treats. Customers can enjoy special promotions across all 50 Pos Shop outlets until February 28, enhancing the festive shopping experience.

Brewer highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating that the nationwide expansion of Pos Shops has collectively served over 640,000 customers. “As we look to the future, we remain guided by our purpose: to connect lives and businesses for a better tomorrow. This is just the beginning of our journey to innovate and delight every individual who interacts with Pos Malaysia,” he concluded.
