PUTRAJAYA, January 22 — The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced that Phase 1 of the Rahmah Cash Donation (STR) 2025 will be disbursed in stages starting today. Payments will be credited directly to recipients’ bank accounts or distributed in cash through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) based on eligibility criteria. The initiative, which has an allocation of RM2.3 billion compared to RM2.1 billion last year, is set to benefit nearly nine million Malaysians, accounting for 60% of the adult population.
The 2025 STR and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programs feature increased maximum household benefits of RM4,600, up 25% from RM3,700 last year, and a minimum rate of RM600 for singles, reflecting a 20% increase. Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that the expanded allocation underscores the government’s commitment to alleviating the cost of living for Malaysians. Applications for STR remain open year-round via the official portal, with MOF cautioning the public to avoid fraudulent links.
