KUALA LUMPUR, January 25 – Police have uncovered a new scam tactic involving fake warning documents bearing the national crest, Malaysian Bar logo, and a name resembling the Inspector-General of Police. The fraudulent documents claim recipients are implicated in legal proceedings for possessing child pornography and threaten arrest unless they contact the issuing party immediately.
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf confirmed the documents are counterfeit and unrelated to any government department. He urged the public to disregard such communications, whether received physically or digitally, and report incidents to the nearest police station. The case is being investigated under Section 465 of the Penal Code for forgery.
