GEORGE TOWN, January 26 – The George Town Festival (GTF), one of Asia’s premier arts and culture events, returns for its 16th edition from August 2 to August 10, 2025. With the theme “Connection,” the festival will explore the profound relationship between art and human experiences through diverse mediums such as theatre, music, dance, film, photography, and visual arts.
GTF 2025 will feature 70% free-to-attend programmes and ticketed experiences across Penang, offering attendees unique opportunities to engage with the arts in unconventional spaces and rediscover the island’s cultural richness. GTF 2025 invites artists and creative talents worldwide to submit proposals for performances, installations, workshops, and exhibitions that reflect the festival’s theme.
