KUALA LUMPUR, January 28 — The Malaysian government has unveiled the MYStartup programme to foster innovation across various industries, aiming to empower start-ups beyond the fintech sector. Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang said the initiative offers grants such as CIP Spark and CIP Sprint to eligible start-ups, alongside coaching and mentorship to connect them with investors and customers.

The programme is part of the Malaysia Start-up Ecosystem Roadmap, targeting 5,000 registered start-ups by 2025, with 4,415 already registered. Speaking at the launch of Versa Quest, a platform integrating gamification into financial management, Chang praised Versa’s collaboration with AHAM Asset Management as a model of innovation and partnership, encouraging positive financial habits and broadening access to investment opportunities.
