SEPANG, January 28 — Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s (KLIA) Automated People Mover System, commonly known as the Aerotrain, is slated to return to service in the second quarter of 2025. Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) managing director, Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani, confirmed that extensive technical upgrades and phased testing are being conducted to ensure a smooth relaunch.

The RM456 million overhaul aims to enhance the Aerotrain’s reliability and operational efficiency after prolonged downtime. “We are committed to meeting the deadline while ensuring the highest safety and performance standards,” Izani said during a press conference. This initiative is expected to significantly improve passenger connectivity and service quality at KLIA.
